Sure an' 'tis a wee bit o' tatting

My baby girl is getting married next month! As a little gift for her, I am going to tat an edge on a hankie that her great-grandmother tatted an edge for and carried on her wedding day, and her grandmother carried on her wedding day. (Not me, though, I eloped. Stupid, stupid me.)

This way, Emma carries a wee bit of me, her grandmother and her great-grandmother with her down the aisle. My grandmother's hankie and edging are white, and I am doing my round in a pale wedgwood blue, so Emma will have something old, borrowed AND blue.

I haven't tatted in a while, so I got my needles and some size 10 thread out today and gave it a try. The result was a cute little shamrock:

(It's sitting on the lid of my tatting chest.)

Now on to size 80 thread and a needle finer than frog hair! Wahoo.....I.....guess....
