Typical afghan sizes

NO! I mean the blankets!

Some of you may want to make some afghans for family, friends or charity but may not know what size to make. Here is a guide, which lists several typical sizes. Please note: Sizes are in inches, width X length, and bed-sized measurements allow for a blanket that covers the TOP of the bed only.

Preemie/Pet: 15 to 24" square

Larger Pet/Hospital Isolette: 36" square

Bassinet: 16 x 36"

Cradle: 20 x 36"

Crib: 30 x 54"

Toddler/Lapghan: 36 x 48" (Also good for those in wheel chairs)

Child: 42 x 48"

Standard "couch" afghan: 48 x 60"

Twin Bed/Adult: 48 x 78"

Double/Full Bed/Large Adult: 60 x 78"

Queen Bed: 66 x 84"

King Bed: 80 x 84"

I hope this helps. Knit on!
